The Orca 6 1/2" Captain series reel is a serious side cast reel for the serious surf and rock fisherperson. This reel incorporates a bunch of Alvey's favourite features including the long-awaited return of Alvey's famous stainless-steel side cast mechanism that is renowned for reliability.
Building on the strength and success of the Stealth range of reels, Alvey has partnered with an Australian polymer manufacturer to develop a new carbon fibre reinforced Nylon material that has been deployed across its new range of premium reels. The Captain series takes advantage of this new material to provide strength and durability whilst reducing weight and providing increased performance.
For the first time, Alvey have included a spare custom handle knob. When used, this replaces the balance knob and gives the angler two outer handles. Or change the smaller inner handle knob for a larger knob creating extra comfort and grip. The addition of the inner rapid retrieve handle plate system gives anglers up to a 30% increase in recovery rate, great for spinning lures and retrieving line, especially in pelagic fishing situations. While the standard outer handle still gives you fish stopping power with a 1:1 ratio.
A stylish and easy to adjust vaccum coated captains wheel drag to make controlling fish easier than ever. Polished brassed plates combined with PTFE coated woven glass washers which can withstand very high temperatures ensuring your drag stays smooth during long fights. Also featuring a quick and easy drag on/off switch on the rear and a fish alert button meaning you will never miss another run.
This Australian made reel is available in three new colours and finished off with a decorative stainless steel base lock spring and stainless-steel name badges on the front.
